Woods Hall Gallery Makes Headlines

“Trustees approve Foster expansion plan; Woods Hall art gallery named in honor of two professors” by Amanda Peterson, Friday, September 18, 2009, excerpt:
…Art gallery named in honor of professors
The honorary degrees and recognition committee voted to rename Room 109 in Woods Hall in honor of two long-time UA art professors.
The Sella-Granata Art Gallery, which will house student work, honors the late Professor Alvin Sella, who died in 2013, and the late Professor Angelo Granata, who died in 2008.

Al Sella and Jack Granata in the early 1980s.
Between the two professors, they had almost 80 years of teaching experience, said Pam Parker, vice president for advancement.
Parker said the two professors were beloved by their students. Granata retired in 1998 but continued to sculpt and show his work until his death. Sella continued to teach until 2011.
