Students in the digital art area of focus develop the necessary conceptual framework and production skills in digital art and design, while also exploring contemporary, historic and theoretical ideas that inform current practice. Particular topics covered in the curriculum include animation, computer-based visual communication, digital imaging, video art, motion graphics, web art, projection mapping and live and interactive performance.

Facilities & Technology

Our students have access to computer labs comprised of iMac desktop computers, Adobe CC, Epson large format printers, Wacom tablets, digital cameras and more.

Digital Media Major’s Design Selected for Maui Competition

In February, digital media major Angel Greene’s surfboard design was selected to represent The University of Alabama at the Maui Jim Tournament. The tournament is a design competition sponsored by the company Maui Jim and is held in conjunction with the Maui Jim Invitational, the annual college basketball tournament that will be held in Hawaii

Digital Art Instructor Has Prints Selected for Midwest Exhibitions

Nic Tisdale, full-time instructor in foundations, digital art and printmaking, has had two prints selected for exhibitions in the Midwest. His color lithograph, Trylla: Troll Stories #1, was selected for an international juried exhibition, Ink Matters, at the Indiana University’s IU Kokomo Downtown Gallery, on exhibit March 6-21, 2020.
