2012 BFA Juried Exhibition

APR 5 – 23 2012  Annual BFA Juried Exhibition,
Harrison Galleries, 2315 University Blvd., Tuscaloosa
GALLERY HOURS: Mon. – Fri. 12 – 5 pm and weekends by appointment

Exhibitors in the juried show are Bachelor of Fine Arts majors Elizabeth Alexander, Emee Barrow, Micah Craft, Morgan Deems, Layken Gibbs, Carolyn Kerr, Jeff Lawrence, Yimin Li, Heather Liston, Julie Miller, Lizzie Muir, Sloan Saunders, Cynthia Snead, Joi West, and Kacie Willings.

All undergraduate art majors who passed the review for the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree were eligible to enter the competition, juried by department faculty. Jurors were Lucy Curzon, assistant professor of art history; Chris Jordan, assistant professor of photography and digital media; Sarah Marshall, associate professor of printmaking; Robert Mellown, associate professor of art history; Pete Schulte, assistant professor of drawing; Sky Shineman, assistant professor of painting; and Craig Wedderspoon, associate professor of sculpture.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is the professional degree for the artist; it is also the foundation for the masters program in studio art at the UA. Professor Craig Wedderspoon said, “This annual juried event seeks to give BFA students the chance to compete and exhibit their work while still in school, rather than at the end of their tenure, providing art students more opportunities to exhibit and participate in art events before graduation.”
