Graduate student Shivam Pawar had two prints accepted to the 19th International Graphic Triennial in the Stadtsaal, Frechen, Germany. Pawar’s etching, The Three Porters, (air-brush aquatint, soft ground and chine collé on hahnemühle); and a woodcut titled New Currency 2020 will be exhibited from August 1-22, 2021. Out of almost 500 applications from around the world, prints by 56 artists from 19 countries were selected.
Pawar is a graduate student in printmaking and painting, from Muzaffarnagar, India. He presented his MA thesis exhibition Unidentified Beings in the spring of 2021. Pawar’s work was selected for the USU Paper & Clay National Juried Exhibition in 2020, and his print was selected by juror Alison Saar for the International Print Center’s exhibition Umbra: New Prints for a Dark Age in 2019. Pawar was awarded the Alvin C. Sella and Joseph Sella Endowed Scholarship and the Emily Irene Thames Endowed Fine Arts Fellowship Fund for the academic year 2021-2022. He holds a BFA in painting from Central India School of Fine Arts in Nagpur, India.
