Graduate Student Juried Into Two National Exhibitions

UA printmaking student Upneet Kaur Mair had two works juried into the 29th Emerald Coast National Juried Arts Exhibition, showing now through October 29, 2021, at Mattie Kelly Arts Center, Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida. The juror was Polly Nordstrand, curator of southwest art at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Colorado College. A print by Mair was also juried into Ink Only III, sponsored by Paperworkers Local and on exhibit through September 23 at Durbin Gallery, Birmingham-Southern College, in Birmingham, Alabama. Ink Only III was juried by Liz Chalfin, founder and director of Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, Mass. This summer, Mair had two works published in the August 2021 issue of The Hand: A Magazine for Reproduction-Based Art.

Upneet Kaur Mair is a graduate student in printmaking working toward the MFA and serves as a teaching assistant in Drawing I. She holds a BFA in painting from Central India School of Fine Arts, Nagpur, India. Mair has exhibited her work in the 7th Guanlan International Print Biennial 2019, China Printmaking Museum, in Shenzhen. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and workshops in cities across India including Nagpur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Mumbai.
