New Designer Remembers Her Professors

Rebecca DeLong, BA 2021

Rebecca DeLong (BA 2021, studio art) is a graphic designer at LPK, a design firm in Cincinnati. DeLong said, “I get to work with global brands spanning a wide variety of industries including food & beverage, technology, baby care, beauty, health and wellness, and more.” DeLong also runs her own freelance graphic design business that focuses branding, packaging, and other design services. She said, “My most influential instructors were Jonathan Cumberland and Cassandra Palmer. They pushed me to become a well-rounded and strategic designer.”

DeLong earned a BA in 2021 with a double major in marketing and studio art. Her logo designs were selected by Alabama historians and archivists in 2021 for the Civil War & Reconstruction Era Governors of Alabama Papers 1857-1882. She was part of the catalog design team for the Black Belt Artist Project and was the recipient of the Elizabeth B. Bashinsky Endowed Art Scholarship in 2019.
