UA Art Alumna Curates “For the Culture”

An exhibition titled For the Culture – New Age Black Artist and curated by UA art alumna Tanesha Childs is up now through Feb. 24, 2017, in the Ferguson Center Art Gallery. The opening reception is Friday, Feb. 17, 5-6 pm.

The exhibition includes photography by UA art alumna Ausharea Adams and by Childs. The exhibition poster was designed by Adams. Childs recently exhibited work at the Feminist Art Conference in Toronto, where she participated in a ten-day residency last May. She graduated in the spring from The University of Alabama’s Department of Art and Art History with a BA in studio art and a minor in art history. Ausharea Adams received the BFA in 2016 with concentrations in photography and drawing.

Ferguson Student Center Gallery is located on the second (main) floor of the UA student center at 751 Campus Drive West, Tuscaloosa, on The University of Alabama campus.
