Bio

Before coming to The University of Alabama in 2018 to teach digital media and graphic design, Jonathan Cumberland taught at Mississippi University for Women. Cumberland has an active practice in design and illustration. Select clients include: Johns Hopkins Magazine, Scholastic Magazine, Mississippi Tourism Association, Mississippi University for Woman, Marin Magazine and Charleston Magazine. His illustrations and posters often employ bold colors and play on visual puns. Cumberland has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally.
