Rebekah James is a graduate teaching assistant in art history. Her concentration is in African American and American art. James received the BA in art history with honors from the University of West Florida. Her undergraduate thesis was titled, “Portals of the Damned: The Gates of Hell in Fin de Siècle France.” At UWF, she received the Mabie Scholarship “for outstanding work in art history” in 2017; the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in 2016; and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for “for commitment to the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service” in 2014. James was selected to present her thesis research at the 31st Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research, University of Memphis in 2017.
