New Class in Zines Offered During UA Art Camp in June

UA Art Camp 2023 offers “Zines and Moveable Books” with book artist Beth Sheehan.

Book artist Beth Sheehan will offer a new course, “Zines and Moveable Books,” at UA Art Camp June 26-30, 2023.

Sheehan said students will learn to cut, fold, glue, print, and bind fun book structures during the week-long camp on campus for high school students. “This session is great for high school students interested in making their own zines, notebooks, comic books, journals, sketchbooks, story books, and more,” she said. “Students will learn to make their first book in 15 minutes!” No previous experience is required for this class or any of the classes at UA Art Camp.

UA Art Camp runs the week of June 26-30. Rising 9th through 12th graders can spend a week exploring the art discipline of their choice and get a taste of UA studio courses. Besides Zines and Moveable Books, UA art faculty will offer courses in Sculpture, Printmaking, Graphic Design, and Ceramics. Click here for more information or to register.

Beth Sheehan holds a BFA from Memphis College of Art and a certificate in Books Arts from the Center for the Book Arts.
