Allison Grant’s Photos Featured in Three Alabama Exhibitions

Associate Professor Allison Grant (photography) had work selected for the Birmingham (AL) Museum of Art’s exhibition, Art + the Environment, open now through November 3, 2023. Grant’s  photographic installation was included in the 2023 Fellowship Spotlight exhibition in the Georgine Clarke Alabama Artists Gallery, August 3 – November 3, 2023, in Montgomery, featuring Alabama State Council on the Arts Fellowship awardees.

Three photographs from Grant’s series Unsoiled were included in the Alabama Contemporary Art Center exhibition Borderwaters in Mobile, curated by Dr. Elizabeth Hawley. The exhibition runs August 11 through November 26, 2023.

This summer, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art in Washington acquired Acts of Translation: Allison Grant, an artist book Grant made in collaboration with artist Sarah Bryant, who publishes under the imprint Big Jump Press and is faculty in UA’s book arts program.
