Titled More Things, the exhibit will feature Nubbe’s sculptures in aluminum, bronze, steel and wood.

Eric Nubbe received a BFA in art with a concentration in sculpture from The University of Alabama in 2014. He recently worked with Tuscaloosa’s O’Connor Studios and The University of Alabama Department Art and Art History’s foundry to help cast the Birmingham Barons’ sculpture of Willie Mays and The University of Alabama’s sculpture of Dr. Robert E. Witt. He also created sculptures for Nucor’s Children’s Charity Classic over the past three years.

Nubbe’s work has appeared in several exhibitions in local venues such as Harrison Galleries and the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center. In 2014, Nubbe received the Purchase Award in The Arts Council’s West Alabama Juried Show.

Eric Nubbe’s Artist Statement:

Honesty is integral to myself and by extension my artwork. I do not believe my work can change the world, that I am a genius innovator or that I am even a marginally important person in the world. I do really hope my work is beneficial in my immediate life. This means several things. I may make goofy things to get a smile from a friend or make things to feel more comfortable in my own home. More often than I would like, working means making things to sort out some emotional or mental turmoil. Sometimes working means giving my time to charity to be at least indirectly useful to someone. I do not have a giant overarching theme; I just make goofy, serious, or crazy things somewhat randomly and hope afterward that I am satisfied with them.
