UA Painting Majors Host Pop-Up Exhibition of Recent Work

The Sella-Granata Art Gallery invites you to a Painting Pop-Up Exhibition, January 25-29, 2024, in the gallery (Woods Hall 109), to see the recent work of eight painting students, all studio art majors: Abi Brewer, Tru Caylo, Sebel Crespo-Merchan, Zaria Jackson, Libby Morris, Daphne Shearer, Jill Thorson and Aisley Walaitis.

Walaitis is a senior BFA major in studio art with concentrations in painting and ceramics. Jill Thorson is a senior BA major in studio art with a minor in general business. Daphne Shearer is a double major in art history and studio. Libby Morris is a BFA major in studio art, with concentrations in ceramics and painting. Zaria Jackson is a senior BFA major in studio art. Sebel Crespo-Merchan is a junior BFA major in studio art with concentrations in painting and drawing. Tru Caylo is a sophomore BFA major in studio art with concentrations in painting and digital media. Abi Brewer is a senior double major in studio art and international studies and is part of the CREATE Path to MBA and University Honors programs and has a minor in Chinese. The students all study under Associate Professor Bryce Speed.

Admission to the Sella-Granata Art Gallery is free. Hours are Monday: 9 am-6 pm; Tuesday: 9 am-6 pm; Wednesday: 9 am-6 pm; Thursday: 9 am-6 pm; Friday: 10 am-2 pm. The gallery features student exhibitions as well as visiting artists and is an essential part of the education and development of UA students and our community. Visitors are welcome but not required to wear masks inside the gallery. Please check UA’s health website for the most up-to-date information. The gallery is open during the fall and spring semesters when school is in session. The SGAG is closed during the summer.
