The newest “Wellness Walls for Art” exhibit at the UA Medical Center, Recaptured, Rediscovered, and Reconsidered, will be on display through October 1, 2016. Photography by Bethany Windham Engle, collages by Helen Shapiro, and still life paintings by Deborah Hughes and Slocum Hughes are featured. Wellness Walls for Art curator Deborah Hughes explains, “‘Recaptured’ refers to Bethany’s photo work, ‘Rediscovered’ is an all new set of collages by artist Helen Shapiro that I acquired out of her house in Meridian, Mississippi, and ‘Reconsidered’ is still life paintings by my great aunt Slocum Hughes and some still lifes I did through various stages of my life, including my first one of note when I was eight years old, a teenager, a college student and beyond.”
