UA Artists Selected for California Exhibition

Two members of UA Art and Art History had artwork juried into Brand 49: Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper, which is on display at the Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California, September 11-October 29, 2021.

Graduate student Shivam Pawar’s etching with chine collé and embossing titled Maid was selected. A painting on paper titled Stall, by Associate Professor William T. Dooley, was also chosen for the in-person exhibition in California.

Juror Marvella Muro, director of Artistic Programs and Education at Self Help Graphics and Art (SHG) in Los Angeles, reviewed more than 1,200 submissions and selected work by 126 artists for display. Muro told the Pasadena Weekly she looked for “ingenuity, technique and content” in the works she chose. About one-third of the selected works are from outside California.
