UA Faculty Art Work Showcased in Biennial Exhibition

The Sarah Moody Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of the studio faculty of the UA department of art and art history. 2019 Faculty Biennial Exhibition will open Thursday, September 5 with a reception for the artists from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The show will run through October 11, 2019.

The gallery’s director, William Dooley, said, “This exhibition is a unique opportunity for the University and west Alabama communities to explore the department’s varied research endeavors firsthand in the studio disciplines of ceramics, digital media, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.”

This year’s Biennial welcomes the addition of new faculty members Jonathan Cumberland, Holland Hopson, and Wade MacDonald. They join William DooleyAllison GrantJason Guynes, Christopher Jordan, Sarah Marshall, Giang Pham, Pete Schulte, Sky Shineman, Bryce Speed, and Craig Wedderspoon in presenting their current pursuits in studio art.

Funding support for the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art comes from the department of art and art history and the College of Arts and Sciences. Additional support comes from the Farley Moody Galbraith Endowed Exhibition Fund. Admission to the gallery is free. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Thursday 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. when school is in session. The gallery is located at 103 Garland Hall in the heart of UA campus on Woods Quad. Information about visitor parking is available on the UA Parking Services website. Parking is free on campus in a legal space after business hours.
